This website will be the main online interface for information and public outreach for the Downtown Westport Master Plan. We encourage you to share the project website with your neighbors (of all ages). The website also will provide updates on upcoming public events, Steering Committee meetings, and other Plan-related news. Plan deliverables, including the completed downtown traffic and parking study, will also be posted on the website.
The Town aims for broad participation from Westport residents and other stakeholders in this process. The First Selectman is requesting that, as a first step, residents complete the Downtown Survey for Residents as soon as possible. A link to the survey is on the project website. Survey results will be posted online.
Two main public events have take place, which were announced on the website and in local newspapers. The first was a series of two visioning workshops. Following an informative analysis of the forces that influence downtown (e.g., economic and retail trends, parking, traffic, etc.) Westporters will be invited to evaluate, debate, and select elements of the future downtown. The second main event will be a multi-day charrette, an event that builds on the results of the first workshop, that focuses on developing recommendations about specific areas, addressing challenges, and refining concepts for Downtown.
